We are a maori-tourism business that provides the only safe and secure all-day private carpark and one-way shuttle transfer to the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike in the Tongariro National Park, Central North Island, NZ. As a hiker you book with us, park your vehicle in our carpark, we shuttle you to the start of the hike. When you hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing trail and reach the end of the hike, walk an extra 10mins back to our carpark and your vehicle. This way you don't have to be at the end of the trail by a designated time to catch your return shuttle, simply take your time walking the trail and return directly back to your vehicle. On your shuttle ride to the start of the trail (30min drive) our drivers will share our culturally significant and historical stories of Tongariro National Park, the mountains and surrounding lands alongside important health and safety tips for your hike. Our security personnel look after your vehicle in our carpark during the day. When they leave we then monitor your vehicle in our carpark with our network of high resolution security cameras. We also make sure everyone stays safe on the mountain. If your vehicle is still in our carpark nearing sunset, we can identify you by your vehicle registration plate number in our booking manifest and will attempt to contact you, firstly by text and then by phone call. If we do not hear from you we will alert our local "Land Search and Rescue" team and Police. They will try to contact you and if it becomes very late without any response from you, they will send a rescue team up the mountain to find you.
